Peter Yealands Winery was the world’s first to be certified carboNZeroCert™ from inception. Their commitment to sustainability and self-sufficiency is unwavering. A focus on renewable energy led to installing one of New Zealand’s largest solar panel arrays on the winery roof. Coastal winds power turbines that convert breezes into energy, and Yealands remains the only New Zealand winery to use specially designed burners for grapevine prunings, eliminating over 180 tons of greenhouse gases annually.

Their dedication to reducing carbon emissions also shines in their innovative use of miniature Babydoll sheep and Kunekune pigs. These helpful creatures naturally tidy vineyard rows, provide healthy doses of organic fertilizer, and significantly reduce tractor mowing.
